At first I was really scared they were gonna be spending like the whole book trapped in Horizons, but thankfully, they break out after like thirty-ish pages, so it’s all good. Let’s talk about the beginning of the book. Letting her kill him was a way of apologizing, a means of punishment. He felt bad about everything he did to Mara, he said so in that tape he left for her when he helped her, Jamie, and Stella break out of Horizons.

I think she needed it, to prove to herself that she had power, power over even Jude, and that Jude needed it too, almost as a way of punishment. Kells was the one that experimented on him, that made him what he is, and I was glad he got what he wanted in the end: death. Everything that happened with Jude is Kells fault. Yes, he did some really horrible, sickening things, especially to Mara, but think about it. While we’re on the subject of Jude, I think he was overall a very misunderstood character. I really thought Jude and Claire were just normal kids, but I guess this explains why Jude survived the collapse and Claire didn’t, and how he was able to grow back his hands. That bomb drop that Jude and Claire were one of Kells experiments? That they were sent after Mara to get close to her, to become her friend, so they could eventually lead her into the Asylum to set off her “disease”… jeeez. And she didn’t even seem to care that they were all dying, that she was just making more disease, not coming up with a cure. But what she did to those children, the ones she experimented on, hoping for a cure. well, maybe Kells herself was as bit insane. I know having children is insanely important to some people, so to have so many miscarriages…. Watching her video diaries was so interesting. The fact that Kells actually has a reason for doing everything she’s done, even though she did some super fucked up things.

By “the discovery” I’m talking about, well, basically everything that has to do with Horizons. I guess I’ll start with the discovery? Okay. an overwhelming amount of much.Ģ.) i’m super emotionally attached to this trilogy, and you know how emotions get in the way of things.ģ.) i read this whole entire this last night from 7pm-12:30am so i may or may not have been slightly sleep deprived. They are as followed:ġ.) so much happened. Okay, so, to be honest, I have no idea how to go about writing this. I’m not doing a “non spoilers” section since it’s the last book in a trilogy, so, if you want to read it or are interested in the Mara Dyer trilogy at all, go check out my “The evolution of mara dyer” review, where I talk a bit about the basic plot! So, leave if you don’t want to be spoiled. Note: There will be spoilers in this review.
